Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song Join 'Zootopia 2' as Sibling Duo in Disney Sequel

The eagerly awaited sequel 'Zootopia 2' is shaping up to be more than just a return to the mammal metropolis—it's bringing fresh faces, new family drama, and high stakes. Macaulay Culkin as Cattrick Lynxley and Brenda Song as Kitty Lynxley, who will be voiced as siblings, are among the members of the Lynxley family cast revealed by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

The news also confirms that returning actors Jason Bateman (Nick Wilde) and Ginnifer Goodwin (Judy Hopps) will return, making this sequel one of the most anticipated animated movies of 2025.

Meet the New Lynxley Family & Returning Heroes

With a star-studded cast, the Lynxley family is at the heart of the new plot. Andy Samberg portrays the laid-back runt of the Lynxley clan, Pawbert Lynxley; Macaulay Culkin, best known for 'Home Alone,' portrays the ambitious eldest son, Cattrick Lynxley; Brenda Song portrays the family's sharp-tongued daughter, Kitty Lynxley; and David Strathairn plays the distinguished patriarch, Milton Lynxley.

The weather walls that preserve Zootopia's various biomes were constructed by the Lynxleys, an ancient and influential family. Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) and Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) are back in the sequel, along with Chief Bogo (Idris Elba), Clawhauser (Nate Torrence), and Gazelle (Shakira). The universe is given new dynamism by fresh faces like Fortune Feimster, Quinta Brunson, Jean Reno, Patrick Warburton, and Ke Huy Quan as Gary De'Snake.

Plot, Themes & What to Expect

In 'Zootopia 2,' Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde take on a new mystery when Gary De'Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan, arrives and upends the balance in the city. In order to solve the mystery, Judy and Nick go underground, exploring previously unexplored areas of Zootopia, and their relationship is put to the ultimate test.

In addressing issues of trust, community, and what it takes to maintain unity in a varied society, the Lynxley family, with its vast legacy (weather walls, power, influence), is positioned to be both an ally and a barrier.

In the 2016 original 'Zootopia,' viewers were shown a city where predators and prey coexist in distinct biomes and well-managed neighbourhoods. Judy Hopps, a rookie rabbit police officer, and Nick Wilde, a cunning fox con artist who became a police partner, were at the center of it all as they discovered a conspiracy that endangered the peace in the entire city.

The family-comedy anime won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and was a box office success, grossing over USD 1 billion worldwide. It was also praised for its sophisticated world-building, witty humor, and social critique.

On 7th November, a 3D attraction will debut at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom. And a theatrical release for 'Zootopia 2' is set for 26th November.
