Nicolas Cage is taking on a biblical role in the upcoming horror film 'The Carpenter's Son,' set to hit theatres on 14th November 2025. The movie, written and directed by Lotfy Nathan and released by Magnolia Pictures and Magnet Releasing, blends supernatural thrills with religious storytelling.
'The Carpenter's Son' is a Terrifying Biblical Tale
The story unfolds in a remote village in Roman-era Egypt, where a carpenter, his wife, and their teenage son Jesus face escalating supernatural threats. Cage plays Joseph, while FKA twigs portrays Mary and Noah Jupe plays Jesus. The family has lived under constant threat, maintaining their faith and traditions, but a stopover in a small settlement triggers chaos when a mysterious stranger lures young Jesus toward temptation.
As the boy is drawn into a forbidden world, Joseph realises a powerful demonic force is at work. Violent, unnatural events begin to follow, and Jesus experiences nightmarish visions of the future. The family ultimately discovers that the boy’s new playmate is actually Satan, intensifying the story’s spiritual and supernatural conflict.
Director Lotfy Nathan drew inspiration from his Coptic Christian background, creating a meticulously crafted thriller that blends divine imagery with demonic horror. The film aims to deliver a genre-bending experience full of visually striking and unsettling scenes that emphasise the cosmic battle between good and evil.
