A Look Back at the 'Black Panther' Legacy
The first 'Black Panther' film debuted in 2018, with Chadwick Boseman leading as T'Challa, the king and protector of Wakanda. After appearing in 'Captain America: Civil War,' the character became a global phenomenon, and the movie went on to earn over $1.3 billion, ranking as the seventh-highest-grossing film in the MCU.
In 2022, 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' continued the story by exploring Wakanda's grief after T’Challa’s death. The sequel introduced Shuri as the new 'Black Panther' and earned $859 million worldwide, receiving five Oscar nominations, including a historic nod for Angela Bassett in Best Supporting Actress.
