John's 1973 album 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' was referred to in both the tour's name and its promotional artwork. The tour has earned $887 million from 309 performances as of May 2023, making it the highest-earning tour ever. The tour by Elton John seems to have been going on forever, and in a way it has been. However, John swears, it'll be over for good. "I can tell you now that this is it," he shared during an interview. "I will not be devoid of music, but as far as schlepping around the world doing shows, I don't want to do it anymore. I've done it since I was 17."
