Alexander Skarsgård Eyes Role as a Polite Swedish Twist on James Bond

Alexander Skarsgard is manifesting to give Daniel Craig’s version of James Bond a whole new vibe.
According to hints made by Alexander Skarsgård, he would be willing to play a very diplomatic and charming Swedish version of James Bond.
The 48-year-old actor, most recognised for his parts in ‘Succession’, ‘Infinity Pool’, ‘Big Little Lies’, and ‘True Blood’, recently hinted in an interview that he might be a wildcard candidate for the renowned James Bond role.
Alexander Skarsgard first rejected the idea, telling The Times that he thought he was too Swedish for the role. He started to consider the possibility, though, when the interviewer brought up the fact that the James Bond franchise is currently owned by a different company and might be ready for a total makeover. In addition to being Swedish, his ideal Bond would be incredibly courteous and diplomatic, favouring compromise over conflict.

Alexander Skarsgard took the idea a step further and imagined a figure who completely shuns violence. His James Bond version would spend time in boardroom meetings, attempting to come to agreements and diffuse tension, in place of action-packed scenes. He characterised this situation as being very Swedish. “I might even pitch the idea,” he laughed.
The search for Daniel Craig’s replacement as James Bond has been ongoing since his final appearance in the 2021 film ‘No Time to Die.’ The franchise saw a major change in March when it was revealed that veteran producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson had handed creative control to Amazon MGM Studios, ending the Broccoli family’s six-decade ownership of the spy series.
Fans haven’t all embraced the change, with some fearing that Amazon’s involvement will weaken the brand with pointless spin-offs and mediocrity.

The identity of the person who will assume the role of 007 is still up for debate. Although he declined to comment when questioned about it during promotion for ‘The Fall Guy’, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is still a serious possibility, with reports from last year indicating he had even been offered the part.
Alexander Skarsgård, on the other hand, just made an appearance in the new music video for the song ‘A Season In Hell’ by These New Puritans, which is taken from their upcoming album ‘Crooked Wing’.
