Grammys Snub Ariana Grande and More

This year’s Grammys arrived with its fair share of snubs and surprises. While some artists delivered stunning performances, they didn’t bag as many awards as we thought they would. And others, well let’s just say they were entirely ignored. Now, it’s time to dive straight into that list of snubs and perhaps we can figure out what went down.

1.Ariana Grande’s had quite the rocky relationship with the Grammys. In fact, she didn’t even attend the ceremony last year, as the board was dictating what songs she could perform and the ones she couldn’t. But this year, while she did deliver a gorgeous performance, she wasn’t able to avoid that snub. The singer performed hits like “Imagine” and “7 Rings.” Her high notes were on point, choreography too, considering she did a whole split on stage, plus, she ended her performance with a bang when she yanked of what appeared to be an engagement ring and put it back in a little box!

And yet, while the 26-year-old pop star was nominated in five categories, including album of the year and best pop vocal album for “Thank U, Next,” it looks like she lost to the one and only Billie Eilish!

But does this matter when she pulled off such an amazing medley? We’ll let you be the judge of that.

2.Another huge snub was directed towards a singer with a lovely voice, we’re talking about Lana Del Rey. While Lana’s album ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell’ was nominated for Album of the Year, she neither performed nor bagged an award. Though, she did turn up looking absolutely stunning. She donned a vintage-inspired dress, dipped in silver sequins, with an elegant cut and flowy sleeves.

“I got it at the mall. And I saw this, and I loved it.” she revealed during a red-carpet interview.

3.Surprisingly, even Taylor Swift didn’t manage to dodge a snub. Her album, “Lover” was nominated for Song of the Year, Best Pop Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance and yet, she didn’t get to take home a single award. In fact, the singer didn’t even turn up for the 2020 Grammys! The pop star already had 10 Grammy Awards to her name and fans were eager to see whether she’d add more to that collection. But, as it turns out, Swift lost to both Lizzo and Billie Eilish, but you know what, sometimes it’s nice to give the up and coming artists a chance to bag a few awards too!

4.While Lil Nas X didn’t bag as many Grammys as we thought he would, he’s still the talk of the town! And that’s possibly because of his phenomenal stage where he sang every version of ‘Old Town Road’! From his collab with BTS, to Billie Ray Cyrus, to the Diplo Remix, he covered it all! Oh and let’s not forget his sparkly suit and the revolving stage, yup, this one’s going to go down in Grammy history as one of the wildest performances ever! Lil Nas X also had a couple more reasons to celebrate, because he earned his first two Grammys in the categories of Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video, which is still admirable considering that he’s a newbie to the music industry! All in all, his night called for a lot more celebrations than tears!
