Miley Cyrus Unveils Emotional New Ballad, ‘More To Lose’

Miley Cyrus has premiered a brand-new track, ‘More To Lose,’ during an intimate live show recently. The performance took place in front of a small, select audience that included close friends, longtime fans, and even a few former flames. The unreleased song will be featured on her forthcoming ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, which will drop on 30th May. Cyrus not only performs on the album but also co-executive produced it with Shawn Everett, known for his work with Kacey Musgraves and Alabama Shakes.
Before performing the emotional ballad, Cyrus spoke to the crowd, mentioning the deep personal ties she had with many in the room. She said that there were people present whom she had known and loved for a long time, including a few former partners. Partway through the song’s gentle opening verse, she jokingly referred to it as “an instant classic.”
The song reflects themes of longing and emotional reckoning.
Miley Cyrus has previewed her upcoming album with three singles so far: ‘Prelude,’ the title track ‘Something Beautiful,’ and the most recent release, ‘End of the World.’
The album follows her 2023 release ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ and will be accompanied by a visual film version, co-directed by Cyrus along with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter. The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas this June.

Cyrus mentioned that the record is influenced by Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’. She explained that she and her team fully embraced the concept, and she feels deeply connected to the project on an emotional level. Her vision, she said, was to create something reminiscent of ‘The Wall’, but with a more glamorous aesthetic, a sharper sense of style, and a strong infusion of pop culture.
In other news, Miley Cyrus has joined the growing list of celebrities embracing power dressing, a style characterized by bold silhouettes, sharp tailoring, and pronounced shoulders. While in Paris this week, she stepped out in several striking ensembles, including a standout Saint Laurent outfit that many viewed as a tribute to the bold, maximalist fashion of the 1980s.
In addition to her musical and fashion statements, Cyrus continues to expand her creative presence across multiple platforms. As anticipation builds for Something Beautiful, fans have also noticed her increasing engagement on social media, where she’s been sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses into the album’s creation and visual concept. With both her music and style reflecting a blend of vulnerability and boldness, Cyrus appears to be entering a new, self-assured phase of her career—one that seamlessly fuses emotional depth with artistic flair.
