Cardi B has officially confirmed the release of her long-awaited second studio album, titled ‘Am I The Drama?’ The rapper shared the news on social media on the night of 23rd June, following several days of cryptic teasers. The album is set to drop on 19th September via Atlantic/Warner.

The album cover features Cardi B lying on the ground in a red gown, encircled by black crows — a bold image that suggests the album’s intense and dramatic themes.

Ahead of the announcement, Cardi had posted a cinematic video on Instagram, reflecting on her journey over the past seven years. In the clip, she declared that the time had come to reclaim her power, stating that she had experienced love, life, and loss. She said she would no longer offer grace, but instead bring force, adding that power is something to be taken, not given. She described herself not as a villain, but as a tyrant, and claimed she had gone beyond simply returning — she was evolving into something greater.

‘Outside’ Leads 23-Track Album Featuring ‘Up’ and ‘WAP’

The album is led by the single ‘Outside’, which was released on 20th June. The track, marked by a heavy bassline, appears to include veiled references to her former husband Offset, and seems to confirm her relationship with NFL player Stefon Diggs.

‘Am I The Drama?’ will feature 23 tracks, including previously released hits ‘Up’ and ‘WAP’, her chart-topping collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion.

This marks Cardi B’s first full-length project since her highly publicised split from Migos rapper Offset last year. The two had previously separated in 2018, and although Cardi filed for divorce in 2020, she later decided against finalising it. However, they parted ways again in 2024, when Cardi revealed she was expecting her third child.

In March this year, it was reported that Offset had filed legal papers requesting joint custody of their three children: Kulture, Wave, and their youngest daughter, whose name has yet to be disclosed. He reportedly requested that Cardi’s home be the primary residence for the children, and asked the court to determine child support responsibilities. Offset also sought an equal division of marital assets and that both parties cover their own legal fees.
