The 'Final Destination' franchise is set to continue, with a seventh instalment reportedly moving forward at Warner Bros.’ New Line division. Industry sources indicate that Lori Evans Taylor, co-writer of the recent hit 'Final Destination: Bloodlines', has been tapped to write the new film.

The decision follows the massive success of 'Bloodlines', which earned more than $286 million globally after its May release. The movie’s performance reinforced the franchise’s status as one of New Line’s most profitable horror properties, ranking just behind 'The Conjuring' and 'It' universes in total earnings.

'Final Destination: Bloodlines' Grabbed Massive Attention

Even before its premiere, 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' captured widespread attention. Its trailer broke viewing records, becoming the second most-watched horror trailer in history and surpassing the previous 24-hour benchmark set by '28 Years Later'.

Critics responded positively to the film, with reviews praising it as a triumphant return to the series’ signature blend of over-the-top thrills and dark humour. Many noted that the movie managed to balance relentless on-screen deaths with a comical, high-energy tone, making it one of the strongest entries in the franchise to date.

The film 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' also featured a memorable cameo from Tony Todd, a long-time staple of the series who passed away shortly after filming. According to the filmmakers, Todd delivered his lines unscripted, speaking sincerely about life, death, and the value of living in the moment — a fitting farewell for a beloved figure in the franchise.
