Miley Cyrus has indicated that the album following her upcoming release, Something Beautiful, will venture into highly experimental musical territory.
Something Beautiful, Cyrus’ ninth studio album, is scheduled for release on May 30 through Columbia Records. The record comes after her 2023 album, Endless Summer Vacation, and includes several singles such as ‘Prelude,’ ‘End of The World,’ ‘More To Lose,’ and the album’s title track. Accompanying the release is a visual film co-directed by Cyrus alongside Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, which is set to screen in select cinemas across the UK for a limited engagement.
During an intimate event at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont, Cyrus invited a small group of fans for a special listening session. There, she revealed that Something Beautiful serves as a lead-in to her tenth studio album, which she described as taking a much more adventurous and experimental approach than her previous work.
Miley’s sister, Brandi Cyrus, has noted that Miley’s artistic evolution often surprises listeners, attributing this to the meticulous care and passion Miley dedicates to each project.
At the session, Miley performed a 45-minute set featuring selections from the new album, including the songs ‘End of The World,’ ‘More To Lose,’ ‘Flowers,’ and the live debut of ‘Easy Lover.’ She also delivered a brief rendition of her well-known track ‘The Climb.’

Cyrus shares executive producer credits on Something Beautiful with Shawn Everett, who is recognized for his collaborations with acts like Kacey Musgraves and Alabama Shakes. She has previously described this album as inspired by the ambitious scope of Pink Floyd’s The Wall, but with a more glamorous and pop culture-infused style.
The tracklist reveals collaborations with high-profile guests, including supermodel Naomi Campbell and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes.
In addition, Miley has shared that she reconsidered plans to promote the album through unconventional forest performances after advice from actor Harrison Ford. Instead, she views the accompanying Something Beautiful film as her unique way of touring, enabling her to connect with fans creatively without the pressures of a traditional live tour.
