The ‘Scream’ franchise is officially back—and this time, the horror reaches new heights of brutality.

On 30th October, Paramount Pictures unveiled the first trailer for 'Scream 7,' marking the return of Neve Campbell as the legendary Sidney Prescott. After sitting out the 2023 instalment 'Scream VI,' Campbell is back to lead the next blood-soaked chapter in the iconic slasher series.

What Does 'Scream 7' Trailer Offer?

The trailer teases a tense and fiery reunion, with familiar faces joining the fight against a new Ghostface killer. 'Scream' veterans Matthew Lillard, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox make their return, with Cox once again stepping into the chaos as journalist Gale Weathers.

The official synopsis reveals that the story follows Sidney as she faces her worst nightmare when a new Ghostface emerges in the quiet town where she has been rebuilding her life. The killer's obsession takes a personal turn as Sidney's daughter, played by Isabel May, becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must confront her past and put an end to the terror once and for all.

New and Old Faces in 'Scream 7'

The cast features several returning stars from the most recent films, including Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown, alongside new additions Joel McHale as Sidney's husband, Mark Evans, and Scott Foley, who portrayed Roman Bridger in 'Scream 3.'

Rounding out the ensemble are Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, Ethan Embry, Asa Germann, McKenna Grace, and many others—making this one of the franchise's most star-studded lineups to date.

One of the biggest surprises for fans is the return of characters long thought to be dead. Both Matthew Lillard and David Arquette appear in the new film, sparking speculation about how the story will reintroduce them. Lillard’s Stu Macher, presumed dead since the original 'Scream' in 1996, has been a fan-favourite subject of resurrection theories for years—and it appears 'Scream 7' may finally bring him back to life.

What's New Behind Scream 7's Camera?

Behind the camera, the film marks a major creative milestone. Kevin Williamson, the original 'Scream' creator and writer, steps into the director’s chair for the first time in the franchise's history. Following the passing of legendary filmmaker Wes Craven in 2015, Williamson's return brings the series full circle, blending classic slasher tension with a modern edge.

The script is written by Guy Busick, from a story by Busick and James Vanderbilt, both of whom penned the previous two instalments.

Lillard recently opened up about returning to the role of Stu, admitting that it was both thrilling and nerve-wracking to revisit such an iconic character decades later. He shared that stepping back into the world of 'The Scream' came with pressure to live up to fan expectations, but also excitement about exploring new layers to his infamous character.

With Kevin Williamson at the helm, Neve Campbell back in action, and a reinvigorated Ghostface on the loose, 'Scream 7' promises to be one of the franchise's most intense and emotional entries yet. The trailer hints at a darker tone, shocking kills, and a deeply personal storyline that ties together the past and present of the 'Scream' universe.

'Scream 7' slashes into theatres on 27th February, 2026, bringing a new chapter of horror, mystery, and survival to the big screen.
