Pedro Pascal is opening up once again about his deep admiration for The Cure, the iconic goth rock band whose music has shaped his life in unexpected ways. In a recent BBC interview for 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps', Pascal instantly chose the 1987 hit 'Just Like Heaven' by The Cure as his go-to radio pick.

Though often associated with suave on-screen roles, Pedro Pascal confessed that he never fully embraced a goth phase during his youth, something he now somewhat regrets. Reflecting on his high school years, he described himself as a dedicated theatre kid, surrounded by classmates in the visual arts scene who wore black eyeliner and painted nails. While he admired their bold aesthetic, he admitted he never dared to join in fully. However, his first experience at a nightclub was at a goth venue—open to those 16 and older—where he and a friend spent the night dancing to tracks by The Cure.

Pedro Pascal is a Longtime Cure Fan

Pascal’s love for the band isn’t new to longtime fans. In November, he was spotted with 'The Fantastic Four' co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach enjoying a Cure concert at the Troxy in London. The moment highlighted just how deeply the band’s music resonates with him beyond the screen.

He later shared a touching tribute on Instagram, posting a video of the band performing their 1989 track 'Plainsong'. Alongside the footage, Pedro Pascal quoted heartfelt lyrics from the song, reminiscing about how long he had waited to see the performance live. His caption revealed that he'd been anticipating that moment since 1989, expressing gratitude to Moss-Bachrach for joining him.

Earlier this month, the actor subtly paid homage to the band again, appearing at the West End premiere of 'Evita' in London wearing a T-shirt featuring the cover art for 'Boys Don’t Cry', The Cure’s most iconic song.

Beyond his music ventures, Pedro Pascal recently revealed he nearly gave up acting to pursue a career in nursing.
He also revealed that his clean-shaven appearance in 'Wonder Woman 1984' was so uncomfortable for him that he’s opted for facial hair in every role since.

From nightclubs to concert halls, Pascal’s long-standing affection for The Cure continues to influence not just his personal style, but the way he connects with fans—showing that even the biggest stars still have favourite bands that feel like home.
