‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Recap and Sadie Sink’s Uncertain Return as Max
Season 4 premiered in 2022 across two parts, released in May and July. Known for its feature-length episodes, the season ended with an intense confrontation between the main characters and the villainous Vecna in the Upside Down. While Eddie Munson (played by Joseph Quinn) died heroically, the antagonist was left weakened but still dangerous—his influence beginning to seep into Hawkins. Max was left in a coma after falling under Vecna’s control, though she is expected to play a role in the new season.
Co-creator Matt Duffer noted that Sink had grown more confident in her craft and praised a recent scene she filmed as “absolutely heartbreaking.” Ross Duffer added that the nature of her involvement remains under wraps due to her character's current condition.
A teaser for Season 5 is now available.
