Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow are set to light up the big screen this Christmas with 'Marty Supreme', A24’s upcoming offbeat sports drama from 'Uncut Gems' director Josh Safdie.

This movie signals Paltrow’s first big-screen role since 'Avengers: Endgame' in 2019. She stars alongside Chalamet, who plays Marty Mauser, an ambitious young man determined to become a global table tennis sensation. The trailer begins with Marty phoning Paltrow’s character, a glamorous film star, from his hotel room, boldly proclaiming that he’s meant for greatness.

What Does 'Marty Supreme' Trailer Tease?

Set to Alphaville’s classic 'Forever Young', the trailer teases a whirlwind mix of ambition, romance, and chaos. A24 describes the film as following Marty on a chaotic adventure “to hell and back” as he chases after his dream. Paltrow’s character, married to a figure in the so-called “Ping-Pong mafia,” becomes entangled with Marty in a relationship that’s both emotionally charged and mutually transactional.

The cast also includes Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, and others. Chalamet and Paltrow grabbed attention for the film after images surfaced in late 2024 showing them shooting a romantic scene in Central Park.

For Paltrow, the role is a departure after her break from Hollywood, while Chalamet continues his streak of high-profile performances following 'Dune: Part Two' and 'A Complete Unknown', where he earned Oscar and SAG Award recognition for portraying Bob Dylan.

'Marty Supreme' hits theatres on 25th December, offering a unique mix of sports drama, romance, and the signature high-energy style of the Safdie brothers.
