The acclaimed Bob Dylan musical Girl From The North Country will soon be available for streaming in the UK. Starting June 1, audiences can watch a recorded performance of the show—filmed at New York’s Belasco Theatre—exclusively on Marquee TV, a streaming platform dedicated to performing arts content.
Created by playwright Conor McPherson, the story unfolds in a Minnesota guesthouse during the Great Depression. Set in Dylan’s hometown of Duluth, it explores the struggles of its residents as they navigate issues such as racial tension, dementia, addiction, and economic hardship.
The production features reimagined versions of Dylan’s songs, with a soundtrack that spans his extensive catalog. Numbers like ‘Like A Rolling Stone,’ ‘All Along The Watchtower,’ ‘Hurricane,’ and ‘Make You Feel My Love’ are woven into the narrative with orchestral arrangements by Simon Hale, a composer known for collaborations with artists like Björk and Sam Smith.

In addition to the streaming release, a new run of the musical is scheduled to begin at London’s Old Vic Theatre on June 24 for a limited engagement.
Meanwhile, Dylan remains active on tour, continuing his Rough and Rowdy Ways performances through September. He is also part of the 2025 line-up for the Outlaw Music Festival alongside Willie Nelson and Billy Strings.
This news comes not long after the release of A Complete Unknown, a biographical film about Dylan’s early career, directed by James Mangold and starring Timothée Chalamet in the lead role.
