Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are set to collaborate once again—though not in their usual roles. The pair will serve as producers for the upcoming action thriller ‘Carthage Must Be Destroyed’, stepping away from their traditional positions as director and leading man. This time, direction will be handled by Ted Griffin, the screenwriter behind ‘Ocean’s Eleven’.
The film’s storyline revolves around a mysterious outsider who enters a crime-infested city and uses a mix of cunning and brute force to disrupt the power structures of its corrupt criminal factions. The narrative teases an intense, twist-laden journey through a violent underworld.
Production is scheduled to begin in October in Rhode Island, with casting still in progress. While no actors have been confirmed, Scorsese and DiCaprio’s involvement has sparked speculation about high-profile names joining the project.

A Powerful Partnership Behind the Scenes
The film is being produced through a collaboration between Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions, DiCaprio’s Appian Way, Verdi Productions, and Ketchup Entertainment. Chad A. Verdi, Jennifer Davisson, Gareth West, and Christopher Donnelly are also on board as producers. Verdi called the film a thrilling endeavour and commended Griffin’s screenplay, suggesting it would deliver a gripping cinematic experience.
Although Scorsese and DiCaprio won’t be featured on screen or behind the lens, their influence will be deeply felt. The project marks another chapter in their long-running creative partnership, following celebrated collaborations like ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, ‘The Aviator’, and ‘Shutter Island’.
