By Silviya Y

The Music Video 'Beautiful Girls' by Sean Kingston Hit One Billion Views on YouTube

By Silviya Y

The ‘Beautiful Girls’ music video by Sean Kingston crossed the 1 billion view threshold on YouTube. As he swoons over women, Kingston can be seen flitting between the present and a nostalgic fantasy straight out of the 1950s in the video. “You’re way too beautiful, girl/ That’s why it’ll never work,” He sings while being accompanied by barbershop-style doo-wop singers inside a soda shop. The 2007 love-struck single was the Jamaican-American newcomer's breakout track. It eventually peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and ruled the chart for four weeks straight that summer. It included a sample of the classic 'Stand by Me' by Ben E. King. At the time, the track was caught up in a bit of controversy due to the chorus' references to suicide, which was occasionally altered on radio as 'in denial.'
